You don’t need a new curriculum.
You don’t need to reinvent your class.
You just need a process.
consent made simple | teaching made better
28 June (11 am AEST) | zoom
An industry-aligned, webinar for dance teachers ready to integrate everyday consent protocols without overhauling their whole class.
From partner work to corrections, students are navigating unspoken norms about touch in dance. You’re in the perfect position to shift that — with language and leadership that supports their autonomy and psychological safety. It's the 'added extra' missing from your alignment with Child Safe legislation.

Workshop ALERT!
This should be shared far wider to all performing arts teachers and studios.

Can I get a oh yes!
The #ClassForTheHeart method trains 'ALL' of the dancer, mind and body simultaneously to train smarter, not harder; working WITH the body, not against. Think dancer longevity and injury reduction. And let's not forget educating everyone about how to honour their own boundaries.
No-one understands dance, unless you're a dancer! Dance is so more than just movement—it can be pure joy.
But let’s not ignore the pressure—the endless drive for perfection in every step, the comparison to other dancers, or maybe the fear of not being the best. It's so easy to get caught in that thinking— it feels like constant pressure, both on stage and off!

As a professional dancer turned teacher (and the fact that I'm human!), I know these struggles all too well. I’ve been there— expecting nothing less than flawless, wanting someone or something to validate 'I'm enough'. Sound familiar?

But here's the thing. Happiness doesn’t live in the trophies, the tricks, or the applause. I've learnt hitting 'that' goal feels awesome at that moment, but doesn't magically erase self-doubt, the comparison game we play, or lack of confidence.
So what does? When we balance training the physical with the mental, the skill with the mindset, and the discipline with self-compassion.

Class for the Heart is here to create mindful, body knowledgeable, body aware dance artists.

What dancers have to say ...
Thank you so much, Cindy, you've really changed my perspective on balance.
I can't imagine how many ways this will benefit me.
Such a good experience and perspective changer. Loved the experience.
This experience was absolutely amazing! I felt like a brand new person.
Made me feel so relaxed and fresh. It was amazing.

HERE'S AN EXAMOLE OF THE #classfortheheart mindset & approach
Treat any conditioning exercises as your training ground for how you dance.
Ever noticed how dancers tend to forget their upper body during stretches? It's really obvious in hamstring stretches. For some reason, we think touching our head to our knee does the trick. Nope, that's just your lower back getting a stretch!
Instead, try lifting, extending & opening your chest WHILE you stretch. Think of it as preparing for those gorgeous high kicks!
That advice isn't just about technique – it's about boosting your mood too! Your posture impacts how you feel. We can work on both mind & body simultaneously. That way, you're not just getting better; you're FEELING better too!
The mind body connection ...
This is what I wish more teachers and dancers also knew – performance pressure (anxiety/nerves) impacts a dancer's physical performance. Fun fact – it not only messes with the head but balance too... it also increases risk of injury!
Sooo, if dance training included regulating the nervous system to build a performance mindset, imagine the improvements – not just in how dancers feel, but also in how they dance.
Class for the Heart focuses on exactly that. Tackling the perfectionist mindset so evident in dance, uncovering thinking styles, practising creating calm, all while developing strength, mobility, flexibility, and importantly knowledge of the body.

Regulation of the nervous system
Nerves side stage? Audition jitters? Dancers mastering the nervous system is the game-changer for physical and emotional wellness!

Unlocking confidence
Comparison holds so many dancers back from reaching their full performance potential. Confidence comes from within, not from trophies or others' validation. Our class processes either develop or diminish that.

Improving flexibility
with form
Calm vibes & proper alignment go hand in hand with injury prevention & peak performance. Stretching often feels more like torture - teachers it's time to work WITH the body to reach flexi goals faster!

Power - strength & stability
Power up from within – mentally & physically. It's all about creating stability, not destroying without unsafe practices. Teach balance – both metaphorically and literally.

Creating an artist
Holistic dancer education is the foundation for artistry and expression. Training techniques integrating mindset make all the difference
