You don’t need a new curriculum.
You don’t need to reinvent your class.
You just need a process.
From partner work to corrections, students are navigating unspoken norms about touch in dance. You’re in the perfect position to shift that — with language and leadership that supports their autonomy and artistry.
TOUCH might be a part of dance, but ASSUMING consent should never be.
This should be shared far wider to all performing arts teachers and studios.

The workshop was a truly thought-provoking experience. Cindy presented a clear framework for creating a culture of consent... I left feeling more aware, empowered, and with a renewed sense of responsibility to create an inclusive and respectful dance community.

It's Cindy here!
Hi dance lovers
I'm an Ex professional dancer, dance teacher and yoga lover who loves anatomy
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to dance my way across international stages as a professional performer, and for the last 17 years, as a Dance educator. And because I can’t resist always adding to my teaching toolkit, I’m now a qualified consent and boundary specialist for stage and screen—(known in the industry as an Intimacy Coordinator) ... fancy, right?
Prioritising wellbeing infused dance training, and now understanding new consent based Performing Arts industry protocols, my aim is to share this with the Dance community.
Of course industry currency is a must, but teaching our young dancers about consent through best practice modelling fused with aspects of wellness... that's truly powerful. We know our impact extends far beyond the studio. What an opportunity we have.
I literally wake up & go to bed every day thinking ... how can I bring this better practice to the dance community, helping teachers bring new knowledge and approaches to their teaching.
I hope you get as excited as I do about making even more of a difference in the lives of the students we teach.
